Community health

Goma — North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo

Voluntary HIV testing

In the city of Goma, Amani-Kwetu supports a voluntary HIV testing project.

To be tested is to take back some control over your own health — and to break the silence that still surrounds the illness.

In a city worn down by decades of crisis, making testing easier is an act of dignity as much as of public health.

Voluntary

No one is tested without their agreement. Consent is the first principle of the project.

Confidential

The result belongs to the person tested. That is what makes coming forward possible at all.

Supported

Testing without guidance or a listening ear serves no one. Support is part of the care.

This project was among the association's activities recorded in the archives of the 2010s. We are updating this page as we gather information on its current status and its local partners.
