Our mission

ABOUT US

Our mission

Six commitments that guide everything we do.

01

Community solidarity

To foster and strengthen an active, participatory solidarity within the community.

02

Identity and heritage

To promote and sustain cultural identity and historical heritage, both at home and across the diaspora.

03

Advocacy for the most vulnerable

To speak up for all those who are vulnerable or living in extreme hardship, whatever the cause.

04

Lasting peace and reconstruction

To work with determination for a lasting peace throughout the DRC, and to support the rebuilding of the social fabric and of basic development infrastructure.

05

Education and the fight against poverty

To support and advocate for initiatives that fight poverty, illiteracy and ignorance, and that give young people a sound education.

06

Remembrance and justice

To advocate for the survivors of the massacres committed in the DRC and for the victims of abuse and violence of every kind; and to keep alive the collective memory of the tragedies these communities have lived through.

The innocence war steals from them; the future it holds in pawn…

These words have travelled with the association since its earliest years. They name what our six aims set out to repair: not buildings alone, but time stolen from children.
